Make Sure The Liquid Matches The Bottle

You want to make sure the liquid and the bottle are compatible. CRs PET spray bottles will work perfect with most water-based liquids like toners or cleaners. For oil-based liquids like most essential oils, glass bottles are the way to go. Most of the liquids you are considering to refill a spray bottle with will be non-fluid. Make sure you only use non-volatile and/or non-corrosive solvents if the spray bottle is PET plastic, and if it is glass, use only liquid that are corrosive. If you’re spray is for cosmetics or medical purposes, it is the law to only use compliant liquids.

Make Sure The Bottle is Clean

Before starting the refill process, give the spray bottle a thorough cleaning to make sure that the bottle is as clean as possible to eliminate the risk of possible contamination. This is best done by rinsing water in each and every compartment of the nozzle. Then remove the nozzle to the bottle spray assembly and put it in water, and if it has an absorption cloth, place that in a separate bowl with water and thoroughly clean with a soft bristle brush. Then make sure both the bottle and the nozzle are completely dry, as it is very important, especially when the liquid type is being changed, that no water remains in the bottle.

Process of Refilling, Step By Step

When filling the spray bottle, if goal is to fill it all the way to the top, the bottle should first be inverted with the funnel in place before liquid is poured in to trap all air. If air has a thorough way to escape, then all liquid is sure to be drawn in, which can only occur when air can fully fill the nozzle compartment.
