C&R Packaging was started by Cynthia and Ron Sickler in January of 1994 after corporate downsizing affected Cynthia's 25 years in the corporate world.

Cynthia's background, immediately prior to starting C&R Packaging, was as a District Manager for CDI Temporary Services in Eatontown responsible for managing the office and marketing corporate businesses, both large and small. 

Ron worked for Zorn Packaging in Farmingdale for 9 years.  Zorn was a custom printer/paper converter producing various paper bags and wrap for ice cream novelties. His responsibility was to develop new accounts and markets, and to maintain the existing customer base.  Zorn Packaging closed its doors in 1999, and Ron joined Cynthia full time.  With Ron's background, C&R was then able to offer customers more specialized custom-printed products.

It was always Ron's dream to have his own business. While Cynthia and Ron's backgrounds were in marketing corporate accounts, both wanted to make a change and work in an environment servicing small business owners.

 Initially the product line consisted of one product, random design paper merchandise bags. Customers began to ask for more items and the product line quickly expanded. Without much advertising, C&R Packaging grew by physically calling on small retailers, primarily gift stores. The main products marketed to retail stores were shopping bags, gift wrap, tissue, labels, string tags, and other retail packaging items.
           
As the business moved forward, new markets were developed. Retail stores are still a part of the customer base with a new emphasis on restaurant, deli, and take-out establishments. The products marketed to the food trade include take-out bags, menu covers, matches, sugar tubes and packets, and other items that are custom-printed.
           
C&R Packaging recently added a complete line of advertising specialty items. Many different organizations can benefit from these products.  In today's environment of vast competition and more savvy customers, it's critical for businesses to create a positive and memorable brand identity.
           
A newly-designed website is devoted to some of the  additional products C&R is offering: clothing and more promotional and advertising specialty products. C&R Packaging continues to offer new and different products to help their customers shine in the marketplace.
